Old Business
Court Condition: All nets except for Court 6 have been adjusted. The crank on Court 6 still needs to be repaired. Don Harrington and Larry Day will look into this. (Subsequent to the meeting it has been discovered that court 4 needs a new net. Don Harrington will look into this).
Skill Ratings: The player skill rating system was discussed (again) including the option of removing them. Since there appears to be some opposition to this among the membership, it was decided to leave the ratings alone for the rest of this season.
Mixed Doubles Tournament: The board members agreed that the recent mixed doubles tournament was a success and should be continued as a regular event in future years.
New Business
Board membership for next season. Nominations and voting for next season's Executive Board will be held at the March Banquet. The present Nominating Committee consists of Bob Franzman, Leo Marion and Wade Wilkerson. All positions are open and anyone interested in running for a Board position may contact one of the three Nominating Committee members. Prospective nominees for the Executive Board will be provided to the membership prior to the March banquet.
Tournament Dates for next season: Tentative dates for the 3 doubles tournaments have been set for next season. These dates are Dec 8-10, January 19-21 and March 16-18. The banquets for these events will all be in Woodland Hall.
Treasury: It was decided that sufficient money was left in the treasury to subsidize some of the March banquet. Some of the money will be used to reduce the cost of tournament entree and also the cost of the banquet. There will be a free raffle with prizes drawn from tickets provided when the players and dinner attendees purchase tickets. Ann Sowle agreed to produce the tickets for distribution upon tournament sign-up.
Tennis Lessons: Larry Day stated that he would continue to give the Thursday afternoon intermediate tennis lessons and that he would be helped by Richard Brown. Other volunteers would also be welcome.
Banquet Menu: Bonnie DeSiro discussed the menu and the cost of food for the March banquet. The Board agreed that the cost of tournament entree would be $2, the meal for members would be $2, and non members $4.
Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 5:20 pm
