2019 Homecoming Parade
February 2, 2019
As many of you may know, the theme for the 2019 Homecoming Parade this season is "Board Games." The tennis group has selected "Trivial Pursuit" as our game.
The Trivial Pursuit game consists of a board, cards and game pieces. Each card has a question for each of six general categories. The game pieces consist of pie shaped piece with six different-colored pie shape pieces. The object of the tame is to correctly answer questions in each of the six categories so you can fill up your pie with each of the six colored pie pieces. The categories and corresponding colors consist of the following:
Geography (Blue)
Entertainment (Pink)
History (Yellow)
Arts and Literature (Purple)
Science and Nature (Green)
Sports and Leisure (Orange)
We are going to break our group into the six categories (possibly have a cart decorated in each color). We will have people dress as an answer to a question in the various categories and either have someone hold a sign with the question or have the person dressed as the answer hold their own sign.
For instance, if you are in the Sports and Leisure group, you could dress as Andre Agassi and the corresponding question could be "Which famous tennis player is married to Stephi Graf. We will have the audience (parade watchers) interact and if they answer the question correctly, we can throw them a piece of candy, or yell "correct!"
We will need around an equal amount of questions and costume answers for each category, so we may or may not be able to use the costume you have. (Note: we can't have everyone in the sports and leisure or entertainment and no one under Science and Nature)
Here are a few examples of possible questions with answers that can be depicted with a costume. These are just some sample questions and answers. There are so many different costumes that people may have or can create that would would work as answers to questions. If you have an idea for a costume that you would like to dress as, please send it to me so I can keep track of the different possible questions and answers we have for each category. (Remember that you have to have a good question to go along with your costume.) Also, if you are interested, you can use any of the below ideas. I only want to know what you decide so we can be sure to have representative questions and answers for each of the six categories. I will send out updates as to how many people I have signed up for each category.
