Tennis Board Meeting
April 5, 2017
The last meeting of the season was conducted by President Don Harrington.
Members present: Don Harrington, Scott Foster, Joan Axtt, Mary Lou Zakrzewski, Bonnie DeSiro, Terry Black and Bob Dougherty.
Members absent: Cathy Harrington, Mark Eshleman, Ann Sowle, Larry Day and Richard Brown.
Don welcomed Bob Dougherty our new web master.
The secretary's report was read and accepted.
The treasurer's report was read and accepted. Our balance is $512. 37.
Old Business:
The brick for the Memorial Garden for Jim Andrews has been ordered.
Scott Foster suggested that instead of removing the screens completely, they could be rolled up in place to the top and fastened with long ties. Scott, Don, and Terry and a few other volunteers are going to try this next week.
Moving the Tuesday ladder to Thursday was discussed. This would allow tennis members to play in the Pickleball ladder. Don will discuss this with Mark and an e-mail will be sent to the membership to see if there are many objections.
Bonnie's requested the use of all courts including Court 3 from 8-10 on Wednesdays beginning in January for the 8 weeks of the Wednesday ladder. Don will take this up with Chris from pickle ball.
New Business:
The new web site is very very user friendly. Bob explained a few of the things that we can now do on it. The Web address is www.sunnfuntennis.blogspot.com. We agreed to accept the new site and discontinue the use of the old site.
It was decided that the Tennis items that are in the lifestyles handbook on tennis should be on the web site home page. Don will do this over the next several months.
The last Tennis Social will be on Courts 1 and 2 on Sun. April 9th at 5:00. Hot dogs and potato salad will be served. Members should bring a dish to share.
